AFL Umpires’ Association announces new inductees for its Hall of Fame

AFLUA CEO Bill Deller today announced the names of the Associations' members who will be inducted into the AFLUA Hall of Fame at an Induction Dinner which will be held on Tuesday 10 August.

The new members are;

ALLAN COOK

GAVIN DORE

DOUGLAS GOURLAY

FRANK HUNTING

GLENN JAMES

TED JOHNSON

PETER MATHESON

CLIVE McCAULAY

BRYAN SHEEHAN

RAY SLEETH

JOHN SUTCLIFFE

BILL SUTTON


Deller said "Our Hall of Fame was established to provide the means by which we can recognize the wonderful contribution that our members have made to the game of Australian Football through their service to the Association or through their on-field achievements, and it will be a very proud moment for the inductees and their families and friends when they are formally inducted at our Dinner"

The Association has also announced the elevation of 5 Hall of Fame members to Legend Status.

"Legend Status within our Hall of Fame is the highest honour that we can bestow on a member, and is awarded soley for exemplary service to the Association"


The inaugural Legends are;

Percy Devine
Treasurer 1912 - 1927

Lindsay Lancaster
Treasurer 1934 - 1937 / Secretary 1938 -1946

Pat McGough
Office Bearer 1963 - 1971 / President 1969

Mark Turner
Secretary 1960 - 1970

Graeme Patterson
Office Bearer 1970 - 1977 / President 1976 / Secretary 1971 - 1973
