Complete Membership Register
Overview
The Victorian Football League Umpires Association (VFLUA) was formed in 1909.
Since that time more than 2000 umpires have been members. More than half of those members did not umpire VFL or AFL senior football.
The Complete Membership Register lists each member, their category of membership and their first and last years of association membership. Membership that is not continuous is indicated by an asterisk and details of non-continuous membership are noted with the members entry.
The register is divided into alphabetical sections based on surnames. Simply select the section corresponding to the first letter of the surname of the umpire you wish to find.

A note on limitations and sources
The Association only holds official membership records from 1933 onwards.
However as a result of research undertaken into VFL and VCFL appointments from 1909 it is possible to identify years of service prior to these official records. Given what we know of this period it is most likely that almost all these umpires were Association members for the length of their service on VFL senior lists. All umpires and their years of Association service from 1909 are included on the list.
VFL umpires from 1897-1908 are listed on the register but have no years next to their name.
Years of membership figures are based on the weekly appointments published in the daily newspapers from 1909-1932, the Official Membership Register from 1933-1958 and thereafter on the data available in the Annual Reports of the Association
